Deployment

This was created for my husband. He is deploying on Sunday at the UNGODLY hour of 6 AM. We have to be at the airport BEFORE 4:30 AM!!! WTF?????? Oooops... sorry, my Jersey came out for a moment there...

At any rate, this is my version of a coaster calendar. The husband is taking it with him. The calendar only has 4 months on it. The 4 months he will be gone. I circled his first day of duty, our son's birthday and his last day of duty there. He said he will cross off each day as it passes. He also told me he wants to refill it once he gets home.

I also included a picture of the cover. I colored the soldier with the dessert colors... since he will be in the dessert.

Today was a hard day for me. We attended a celebration at our son's classroom. As my husband walked in the children sang our National Anthem. Each child read a poem using either the letters from the word Leader or the word Hero. To hear my son recite his poetry from the word Leader just... yikes...

After that Mrs. Edwards played some music and we all acted silly and danced. I was glad for that part of the celebration. Now, thinking about the day, I am just sad.

Sassy Susie

I think the general feeling about this stamp set is... people love it! I have to admit, I would vote for Susie if she ran for President of the US! This set cracks me up.

You know what I love more about this set? The way it stamps. The font is so clean when you stamp it. It looks like it printed into the paper. At any rate, I made this card for my sister's birthday. She turns 58 this year!

At any rate, Mary M. suggested once again that I update my blog. Here you go Mary! Just for you!! LOL! Don't worry Peggy, I didn't forget you either! LOL!

I watercolored Susie - I tried to put in a shadow, a sun, added rouge to her cheeks, a lipstick print on the mug and such. I added bling to Susie by making her earrings and necklace gold. I even gave her sparkly eyeshadow. What do you think?

Hot Spot - Target's $1 Spot

You gotta love Target's $1 Spot! - I found the cutest stuff in there! This came out around Valentine's Day but I was waiting to decorate them. I used rub-ons, ribbon and sprayed the rub-ons with a clear acrylic glossy sealer just to make sure the rub-ons don't rub-off!

I went back today, they had 3 tiny white pails for $1 (they were with some "wedding" items). They also had white pails (that were larger) with hearts cut out near the top. I didn't get any of those, but they were cute!

Cute Card

I am taking pictures of all the new little goodies I have stamped. I am hoping to upload at least one a day. Mary, don't get too upset if I skip a day here and there... I know you are going to waggle a finger in my direction if I don't update often! hehehehehe!

Anyway, I made this card for my son's friend's birthday... boy say that three times fast... LOL!! Anyway, I think it's adorable. The picture is horrible, I am sorry about that. I did use ONE thing that wasn't Stampin' Up! Which happens from time to time, but I try to avoid it as much as possible.

It was a quick and easy card... What do you think?

Recipe:
Stamps - Older and Wiser
Paper - Brilliant Blue & Jersey Shore DSDP

Pinwheel

I hate pink! I hate it! However, since the Berry Bliss paper came out, I LOVE PINK!!! I could just eat this paper! I think because it mixes my other favorite colors, Purely Pom, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, etc

Anyway, this is one of my favorite pinwheels. I got the template from Stampin' Up! While it's slightly (slightly means 5 minute or so) time consuming in the "put together" phase. It is super easy to cut out and assemble.
