Convention 2009!

Wow! That's how I sum up this year's Stampin' Up! Convention. I was honored to earn the award of Rising Star. I placed #9 and I am on Cloud Nine!

I have so much to share it's not even funny. The bad thing is: I also have lots to do this week. I have Scrap Club on Thursday, Stamp Club on Saturday and a class in between! Yikes!

This was my 3D swap for Convention this year. This luminary actually works; I even gave a tealight candle to everyone too! This was super fun and super simple to do, thanks to the Big Shot. It's the new Fancy Favor Big Shot Die. I also used the new Snowflake Punch! A little versamark, a little vellum card stock, and a little Iridescent Ice... viola! I did add a tag to my swap in the lower right hand corner that said, Let it snow! *giggles*

There is an actual tealight candle in this luminary. The box doesn't even get warm! It works perfectly.

A Trip To Paradise

With A Trip to Paradise coming up in a few days, I thought I would throw out a teaser. If you are interested in taking this class, you can take it to go OR you can sign up for the alternate date. The alternate date will probably be in early August - right after I get back from Convention.

If you are interested in this class and the little grass shack, email me and I will order the Paradise stamp set for you! It's included in the price of the class! WOO HOO!!!

3D Swap

I can't wait to show you all the cool stuff happening at Stampin' Up! Some of it is going to happen later rather than sooner but the latest tidbit is the New Demonstrator incentive! $99 Starter Kit! Sign up under me after August 11th and there is an extra incentive for you - $50 in free product from the new catalog, from me. Click on the Join My Team link to find out how!

Now, here is the 3d swap that I did. I made this scratch pad holder. It is refillable - you can take the pad out and put another in. It's very cool! This is one of three projects in an upcoming "You have to have a paper Trimmer" class. It highlights the Stampin' Up! paper trimmer and why you need one!

I have always used the Stampin' Up! tabletop cutter and was just peachy using it... until... until... I discovered the beauty of the Paper Trimmer. Yeah, I know, I know... I am slow but I am cute. Anyway this is NOT my convention swap. I gave them all away. This is my "I am using all my Wild Wasabi" give-away! I used the new Riding Hood Red and Bella Rose Paper instead but it looked very similar to this one!

Convention!

Oh my goodness! Convention was just amazing! The announcements that were made were just unbelievable! All I have to say is that I will be a BIG SHOT with the BIG SHOT soon! Yes, we are getting our own, Stampin' Up! Exclusive, Big Shot! We will have exclusive dies that no one else will be able to get unless they order through a demonstrator! We got a sneak peek at just some of them! OH, I can't tell you enough about it!! September is when customers can order the Big Shot from SU!

One of the great things that happens at Convention is that most demonstrators swap card fronts, 3d items and such. It is meant to give other demonstrators ideas on card, 3d items, etc. Here is a picture of my card swap. This uses Whisper White, Basic Black and Close to Cocoa paper as well as Bella Rose, our NEW Double-Sided Paper (aka: DSP). It features Sanded and Dreams du Jour (a NEW stamp set). I have another swap I will show you tomorrow!

My upline, Kimberly Van Diepen, made the number 7 demonstrator in the United States of America (there are almost 50,000 demonstrators in the US)! I couldn't have been more proud of her achievement! Kimberly works hard all the time. She has moved her SU! business 4 times and she is always teaching us things she's learned and put into practice. She is an inspiration to us all! Kimberly - you deserve that award and more! Enjoy every moment of it!
